Smanettona is a project of integration between multimedia, web and paper publishing, intended for the youngest generation of computer "geeks" ("smanettoni"). The project, aiming to introduce children and teens to the secrets of the computers and the web, is made of a diary, a live cd based on free software ("smanett-OS"), and the web portal Smanettona, which is the online integration and expansion of the diary. The Smanettona portal is built with Plone and it features customs workflow to allow authenticated users to safely interact and contribute to the portal contents, under the guidance of the Smanettona staff and the Smanettona characters. Developed by Reflab with Mediatria and in cooperation with the Free Software Foundation.
