Following a decision by the ECR Europe Executive Board on July 1st, 2005, the International Commerce Institute was officially constituted by its Board of Directors on Sept. 29th, 2005. Creation of the Institute is consistent with the heavy investment ECR Europe has made in the creation and dissemination of ECR knowledge since its foundation in 1994. It is a logical follow-on from the ambitious programme called the Shared Learning Initiative launched in 2004 to spur the wide-scale adoption and development of ECR Best Practices and Standards developed both at national and European level. //// Raptus AG was charged with consulting, the general concept and the technical implementation. The graphic work was realised in collaboration with Acapella, Belgium (www.acapella.be). //// This portal bears extended work-flows also incorporating third party companies (e.g. Springer, publisher in Germany), eCommerce functions (OgoneArticle soon contributed), extended member profiles and newsletters (PloneGazette).
