The mission of the non-profit organization Advancing Green Chemistry is to reduce or eliminate hazardous substances from the manufacture and use of chemical products. To that end, they are building collaborative connections between green chemists - who design the products - and environmental health scientists - who understand how the chemicals interact with biological systems. This initiative includes a major conference, follow on meetings, information sharing, and policy development, all of which are aided by a members-only collaborative website. It includes news aggregated from a variety of sources, discussion forums, areas for members to post relevant papers and bibliographies, primers and analyses of important papers in both fields, collaboratively developed policy statements, and member commenting and discussion on all content.
