CMS Wire took a look at the multi-site management capabilities of three of the most popular open source web content management systems and found that Plone may just be the most capable.

Open Source web content management systems are starting to gain some traction in the enterprise as the ever growing need to be cost conscience continues. Most of these enterprises are looking for a single solution to manage multiple sites, whether they are microsites for marketing or full fledged websites. This means multi-site management capabilities are a critical component of open source solutions.

But not all multi-site management capabilities are equal. Which means one open source solution may actually be a better choice for the enterprise than another.
