Frequently asked questions about Plone Foundation sponsorship

How can I support the Plone Foundation if I'm not a Plone consulting firm?

While the Plone.net sponorship program is only open to Plone consulting firms, the Plone Foundation welcomes contributions from individuals and institutions that use Plone and want to invest in the ongoing growth and success of the Plone community.  http://plone.org/foundation-donations

I live in a developing country, and the sponsorship prices seem awfully high.  Is there a separate rate tier for us?

The majority of Plone firms that are active in the Plone community are located in OECD countires.  This is a pilot program.  In future years, we hope to expand it with additional rates that allow Plone firms in economically developing countries to participate in the sponsorship program.  In the meantime, individuals and organizations can donate any amount to the Foundation at http://plone.org/foundation-donations.

Is my sponsorship payment tax-deductible?

The Plone Foundation is a US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.  Contributions to the Foundation, especially from US-based individuals and corporations, may be tax-deductible; check with your tax adviser for details.
